Good thing for Seattle it's the offseason.

Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano will spend the next six weeks recovering from surgery he underwent on Tuesday to repair his right and left core muscles.

Cano, 32, appeared in 156 games for the Mariners in the second season of the 10-year, $240-million contract he signed in December of 2013.

The six-time All-Star hit under .300 for the first time since 2008, slashing .287/.334/.446 with 21 home runs and 79 RBIs. He was also a minus-nine in defensive runs saved at second base for Seattle, according to Fangraphs.
