Mets' Matz expected to make another start; no progress for Uribe

New York Mets left-hander Steven Matz is tentatively scheduled to start Saturday or Sunday, and could pitch five-to-six innings ahead of the team's upcoming playoff run, manager Terry Collins said Thursday.

Matz is reportedly feeling better as he deals with a back issue that surfaced after sleeping awkwardly earlier this week. Originally scheduled to start Wednesday, he's had his next trip on the mound pushed back twice.

The rookie southpaw has been excellent when healthy this season, sporting a 4-0 record in six starts with a 2.27 ERA and could be the Mets' fourth starter in the National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Bartolo Colon and Jonathon Niese are the other candidates.

Collins said the team is worried about third baseman Juan Uribe, who hasn't made progress recovering from a chest injury. The skipper said the injury, located where the sternum meets the clavicle, is "cartilage-related."
