Molina, Wainwright included on Cardinals' NLDS roster
The St. Louis Cardinals are set to open up their National League Division Series with a pair of veteran staples on the roster.
Catcher Yadier Molina and right-hander Adam Wainwright were both included on manager Mike Matheny's 25-man roster.
The Cardinals remained hopeful Molina would be able to take part in the NLDS with the Chicago Cubs after missing the final week of the regular season with a torn ligament in his thumb, and were rewarded Thursday.
"Yadier Molina looks great and will be ready to go," Matheny told reporters.

Wainwright, meanwhile, returned to the mound for the first time late last month after suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon in April. The 34-year-old has tossed three innings since returning and will be used as a one-inning reliever for St. Louis.
