Angels' Weaver battling shoulder tightness, expects to make next start

The injuries continue to pile up for the Los Angeles Angels.

Right-hander Jered Weaver left Sunday's 3-2 win over the Seattle Mariners in the fifth inning with shoulder tightness, but expects to make his next start.

Weaver admitted postgame his shoulder was bothering him for the entire contest leading up to his departure.

"It was not comfortable," Weaver told reporters. "Just wanted to go out there and try to get through as much as I could with, obviously, the bullpen getting abused over the course of the season."

The veteran toughed it out to throw five innings of one-run ball, helping the Angels remain a half-game back of the Houston Astros in the American League wild-card hunt.

Los Angeles is already dealing with injuries to pitchers Huston Street (groin) and Joe Smith (ankle).
