Troy Tulowitzki, who's still searching for his stroke at the plate four weeks after being traded to the Toronto Blue Jays, appeared to blow an opportunity to drive in a run early in Wednesday's series finale against the Cleveland Indians.

Players with their sights set on the Most Valuable Player award, however, don't allow their teammates to squander good opportunities. Josh Donaldson, the American League leader in wins above replacement, made that abundantly clear during the second inning at Rogers Centre.

With Donaldson standing on third base and only one out, Tulowitzki lifted a lazy pop fly to shallow right-center that second baseman Jason Kipnis settled under and easily corralled. Donaldson, though, managed to salvage Tulowitzki's plate appearance, narrowly avoiding the tag from catcher Yan Gomes with a ridiculously athletic slide after Kipnis unleashed a throw to the plate.

Donaldson also afforded the Blue Jays a 5-0 lead with his daring dash, which led to his 104th run of the season. No other player in the major leagues has more than 90.
