The New York Yankees more than doubled a big inning by the Texas Rangers.

New York had 11 runs on 10 hits in the top of the second inning Tuesday night after Texas had scored five runs in the bottom of the first.

The Yankees sent 15 batters to the plate, with Mark Teixeira the only one without a hit in the big inning. Teixeira struck out when he was the first batter to face reliever Wandy Rodriguez.

They led 6-5 on Alex Rodriguez's RBI double with no outs that chased Texas starter Martin Perez. No. 9 batter Brendan Ryan had two doubles and three RBIs in the frame, while Didi Gregorius had a three-run triple and scored twice.

Chris Young, who scored twice in the second, added a grand slam in the third to make it 15-5.
