Mauer is out of the lineup Saturday against the Yankees.

Analysis:

With the Yankees turning to CC Sabathia on Saturday, Mauer will get just his fifth night off of the season. Sabathia has dominated that matchup over the years as Mauer has only gone 8-for-47 with 19 strikeouts against the big left-hander. Trevor Plouffe will slide over to first base in Mauer's place Saturday.
