VIDEO: Angels' Mike Trout hits 1st leadoff homer in All-Star Game since 1989
Zack Greinke didn't have to face Mike Trout in the midst of his scoreless-innings streak.
The Los Angeles Dodgers' hurler was deserving of a start for the National League All-Star team at this year's festivities, as he hasn't given up a run in 35 2/3 innings while boasting a sparkling 1.39 ERA.
But Trout - the Los Angeles Angels' star - knew what he was looking for when he stepped up to the plate, driving a fastball over the right-field fence to lead off the game. It gave the American League an early 1-0 lead.

The homer marks the first leadoff bomb in an All-Star Game since Bo Jackson did it back in 1989. It also makes him the sixth player in major league history to hit a leadoff home run in an All-Star Game.
What's even more staggering are Trout's career numbers in All-Star Games. He's 5-for-8 with two doubles, one triple, and a home run.
