Chicago Cubs left-hander Jon Lester received some help from an old friend in order to pick up his first career hit.
Lester singled off former teammate - and now St. Louis Cardinals right-hander - John Lackey in the second inning on Monday to break an 0-for-66 career at the plate.
With runners on first and second, Lester drove a 95-mph fastball up the middle that deflected off Lackey for an infield single.

Lester, who entered the game with 37 strikeouts and one walk in 73 plate appearances, raised his batting average to .015 with the single. He also pitched a no-hitter into the seventh inning, however, it was all for not as the Cardinals put together a late rally and emerged with a 6-0 win.
