Earlier this week, ESPN's Keith Law updated his wildly popular prospect rankings, anointing 20-year-old shortstop Carlos Correa the game's top minor leaguer just weeks after the burgeoning star was promoted to Triple-A by the Houston Astros.

On Tuesday evening, Correa vindicated the veteran scout by launching a monstrous home run against the Memphis Redbirds that sailed completely out of Chukchansi Park, the home stadium of Correa's Fresno Grizzlies.

Selected first overall in the 2012 draft, Correa's meteoric ascent through the minor leagues has been downright unbelievable. Despite missing the latter half last season with an anke injury, Correa opened the 2015 campaign by hitting .385/.459/.726 with seven home runs and 15 stolen bases in Double-A before being promoted to the Pacific Coast League in mid-May.

Since arriving in Fresno, the young infielder has compiled a .853 OPS with three homers, four doubles, and three stolen bases in 14 games, playing against guys who are roughly seven years his senior, on average.

"He's at the level now where he can envision himself in the big leagues," Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said earlier this week. "Some of those guys (at Fresno) he's played with and some he hasn't. There's a lot of big leaguers on that team, so he's been respectful of doing this work."

Correa is expected to join the Astros at some point this summer.
