Angels' Cowgill not in lineup Monday vs. Padres with sore hand

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Collin Cowgill (hand) is not in the lineup Monday against the Padres.

Analysis:

Cowgill injured his left hand while taking swings Sunday, and he'll sit out Monday and should be considered day-to-day. The team is hopeful he'll avoid a DL stint, but more information may not surface until he's given an opportunity to rest the hand for a few days. The Angels will go with a starting outfield Monday of Mike Trout (center), Kole Calhoun (right) and Matt Joyce (left).
