Mesoraco is finally ready to test his injured hip with some catching, and how he responds in the days ahead will likely go a long way toward deciding whether or not to send him for surgery. There's a chance that decision could come after the Reds' two road interleague series this week (at Kansas City, at Cleveland), during which Mesoraco will be available to DH.
