Victor Martinez: (Knee) DL Move May Be Coming

Martinez (knee) may be placed on the disabled list Tuesday, MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

The Tigers are calling up Tyler Collins from Triple-A Toledo, with a move to put Martinez on the disabled list the most likely corresponding transaction. Martinez has struggled from the left side of the plate all season, and he felt a pinch in his surgically-repaired left knee during Monday's game against the Brewers. A few weeks off might do him some good, as he clearly hasn't been his usual self this season. Rajai Davis would likely benefit most from extra at-bats in Martinez's absence.
