Heyward is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers.
Analysis:
Randal Grichuk is batting leadoff while taking over in right field for Heyward with the left-handed David Price on the bump for Detroit. Heyward was in the lineup the last four times the Cardinals faced a lefty and is 14-for-37 (.378/.452/.541) against left-handed pitching so far this season. Unfortunately, he's batting just .202/.250/.319 against right-handers and has hit eighth the last two times the Cards have faced a right-hander.
