Giants' Pagan scratched from lineup with cut finger

SAN FRANCISCO - Giants outfielder Angel Pagan was scratched from Tuesday night's starting lineup against the San Diego Padres with a cut on his middle finger.

Pagan, the Giants' No. 3 hitter, is batting .405 (17 for 42) over his last 10 games and ranks fifth in the NL with a .350 batting average. He started the first 25 games.

Justin Maxwell took his spot in the lineup, while Gregor Blanco opens in center field.
