Cabrera went 1-for-3 and stole his first base of the season in Friday's loss to the Red Sox.

Analysis:

The speedy Cabrera looked like he nearly separated his shoulder on an awkward dive into second base, but he was fine and remained in the game. He has made the lion's share of starts at shortstop with J.J. Hardy (shoulder) out, but it took him longer than expected to get his first steal. Cabrera is 8-for-29 on the season, but he does not have an extra-base hit. In lighter news, Cabrera has been cleared to travel to Canada for games against the Blue Jays, MASN Sports reports. It was not a foregone conclusion that Canada would let him in due to pending legal troubles for arrests last year on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana and resisting arrest.
