Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale said Trumbo will bat cleanup against left-handed pitchers, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports.

Analysis:

Hale said he wants to split up Trumbo and Paul Goldschmidt against right-handers, indicating that the former will bat either fifth or sixth, seeing as Goldy's a mainstay in the three-hole. While still lacking in other baseball skills, Trumbo is a good bet to revive his excellent power in 2015, coming off an injury-plagued 2014 campaign. He owns a .364/.404/.614 slash line this spring, albeit with a 10:1 K:BB over 44 at-bats.
