The Orioles have avoided putting Snider in the lineup against left-handers in recent days, MASN Sports reports.

Analysis:

Earlier this spring, it appeared the Orioles were set to give Snider full time at-bats in right field. It is unusual that the club would shield a veteran from a certain handed pitcher in spring training rather than find out if Snider has the ability to hit that type of pitcher. The Orioles have flexibility among lightly established players in Steve Pearce, Delmon Young, Alejandro De Aza and Snider, so it is possible Snider yields to the platoon with at-bats going to some combination of the other players. Snider is 9-for-35 with one double this spring, which lands his slugging at just .286.
