Lyles has solidified a spot in the Rockies' rotation to open the season, Nick Groke of the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Lyles has a shiny 0.60 ERA and is holding batters to a .102 average so far this spring, erasing any doubt that he'll come away from a starting role. In fact, with Jorge De La Rosa (groin) expected to open the season on the DL, there's a good chance that Lyles will serve as the Rockies' No. 2 starter for at least the first couple of weeks. While Lyles' ability to keep the ball on the ground makes him less of an ERA risk than most who call Coors Field home, his lack of strikeouts and tendency to put runners on base doesn't make him worth targeting outside of deep or NL-only formats.
