Gordon (wrist) played catch Monday for the first time since undergoing offseason surgery, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio reports.

Analysis:

He was not hitting Monday, but has been cleared to take 15 dry swings Tuesday. Gordon believes there is no chance he will miss Opening Day this season, and he took his first step toward returning Monday. The 31-year-old outfielder hasn't sat more than 11 games in a season since 2010, and there's no reason to believe that won't be the case again in 2015 barring a setback of some sort. However, there are questions surrounding his ability to hit for power due to the nature of his injury.
