Werth (shoulder) will serve five days in jail after pleading guilty to a reckless driving charge Thursday, CSN Washington reports.

Analysis:

The 35-year-old was pulled over back in July after a police officer clocked his Porsche driving 105 miles per hour in a 55-mile per hour zone. Originally slated to serve 10 days, Werth appealed the ruling and the sentence has been reduced to five days. At this point, neither Major League Baseball nor the Nationals have taken any additional action in the form of a suspension or otherwise. Werth will serve the sentence on weekends in order to allow him to continue rehabilitating his shoulder following surgery.
