The Chicago Cubs continued to honor the late Ernie Banks on Wednesday by returning his iconic statue to the Windy City so fans could pay their respects to the Hall of Famer.
Banks's statue was sent to Michigan for maintenance last fall, but the club had it returned to Chicago following his death. The statue will undergo restoration at a later date, according to the Chicago Tribune.
In the meantime, Banks's 7-foot bronze statue will remain on display in Daley Plaza from Wednesday through Sunday. Banks died of a heart attack last week at the age of 83.
