Fernandez remains on track in his rehab and is expected to throw off of a mound in spring training for the first time since his May Tommy John surgery, the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

The team has purposefully kept Fernandez' timetable flexible as the club is not interested in rushing back their injured ace. Marlins President of Baseball Operations, Michael Hill, reiterated Monday that Fernandez is expected to make it back in the majors sometime in June or July. Over 224.1 career innings, Fernandez has posted a phenomenal 2.25 ERA and 0.97 WHIP with 257 strikeouts while establishing himself as a bona fide ace in the majors entering his age-22 season.
