Plouffe (forearm) and the Twins avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $4.8 million deal Friday, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Analysis:

Plouffe provided Minnesota with a nice combination of walk rate and isolated power last year, walking 9.1 percent of the time and posting an ISO of .165. He also showed improved fielding skills in 2014, solidifying his case to remain an everyday player for the Twins in 2015. His forearm injury is expected to be a non-issue by spring training.
