Blue Jays sign free agent pitcher Andrew Albers

The Toronto Blue Jays officially announced the signing of free agent left-hander Andrew Albers to a minor league contract Friday.

Albers, 29, spent the entire 2014 season with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization. His contract includes an invitation to attend spring training.

The Canadian-born pitcher last appeared in the majors in 2013 - his only MLB season - as a member of the Minnesota Twins.
