De La Rosa is currently penciled into the Diamondbacks' rotation for 2015, Fox Sports Arizona's Jack Magruder reports.

Analysis:

General manager Dave Stewart named De La Rosa, along with Josh Collmenter, Jeremy Hellickson and Allen Webster as four pitchers that would be assured of a spot in the rotation as things currently stand. A lot can change between now and the start of the 2015 season, but it would seem that De La Rosa will enter spring training as a strong favorite to be a part of Arizona's rotation. While De La Rosa's fastball works in the mid-90s, he wasn't much of a strikeout pitcher in 2014, notching just 74 strikeouts in 101.2 innings with Boston. His 4.03 xFIP points to the likelihood of De La Rosa pitching like a back-end starter in 2015.
