Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Indians acquired pitching on Sunday after landing right-hander Charles Brewer from the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash, the team announced.

Brewer, who was selected in the 12th round of the 2009 draft by the Diamondbacks, spent last season with Triple-A Reno. In 22 starts, he posted an 8-10 record to go with a 4.99 ERA and 1.43 WHIP.

The 26-year-old has four games of major league experience under his belt - all coming in 2013. He allowed two runs off eight hits while striking out five in six innings.

Arizona designated Brewer for assignment on Thursday.
