Diamondbacks designate Bolsinger, Brewer for assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks designated pitchers Mike Bolsinger and Charles Brewer for assignment Thursday, Nick Piecoro of AZ Central Sports reports.

Analysis:

Bolsinger spent the majority of the season at Triple-A Reno, where he posted a 3.93 ERA and 1.353 WHP across 91.2 cumulative innings. He made 10 appearances, including nine starts, for the Diamondbacks, struggling to a 1-6 record with a 5.50 ERA.

Brewer began last season at Triple-A Reno but struggled to a 4.99 ERA over 126.1 innings. He was demoted to Double-A Mobile, where he turned things around to post a 2.91 ERA and 1.154 WHIP with 42 strikeouts and 14 walks.
