Niese's injury history has reduced the level of interest in him as a possible trade option by the Mets, the New York Daily News reports.

Analysis:

Niese is slated to make $7, $9, $10 and $11 million annually through 2018, with the final two years as club options, which on the face of it should be a trade-friendly contract. However, his elbow and shoulder injuries have made teams wary of trading for him as the Mets look to possibly deal from their starting pitching depth to fill other holes.
