Report: Dodgers haven't shut door on re-signing Hanley Ramirez

Jeff Curry / USA TODAY Sports

Though the Los Angeles Dodgers are exploring several options to address their hole at shortstop, the club hasn't completely rejected the possibility of re-signing Hanley Ramirez, one source told Chris Cotillo of MLB Daily Dish.

Ramirez rejected a $15.3 million qualifying offer from the Dodgers earlier this month, and the three-time All-Star has already generated interest from numerous teams, including the Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. The 30-year-old, however, expressed in spring training his desire to remain with the Dodgers, and the club may be inclined to revisit extension talks that proved fruitless months ago.

The Dodgers, though, have been linked to other shortstops and are reportedly pursuing Alexei Ramirez of the Chicago White Sox rather "aggressively," according to USA Today's Bob Nightengale. The club also has several internal candidates to take over at shortstop, namely Cuban defector Erisbel Arruebarrena and Dee Gordon, who spent the 2014 campaign at second base.
