Report: Dodgers' Haren may retire if traded

Reuters

Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Dan Haren is reportedly generating some interest on the trade market, but the 34-year-old might be unwilling to play outside his preferred corner of California.

Haren recently exercised his $10-million option to remain with the Dodgers next season, and sources told Jon Heyman of CBS Sports that the three-time All-Star may opt to retire if he's traded to any team besides the Los Angeles Angels.

Haren, who was born roughly 10 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, crafted a 4.02 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP over 32 starts for the Dodgers in 2014, his first season with the club. The 12-year veteran has struggled in recent years, posting a 86 ERA+ while yielding 1.4 home runs per nine innings over his last three seasons.
