Rangers GM: Acquiring starting pitching a priority this offseason

It's no surprise the Texas Rangers plan to upgrade their rotation this offseason after using a major league leading 15 starters in 2014.
“We could get better at multiple spots, sure,” Rangers general manager Jon Daniels told Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. “We could still use another bat. But for right now we are going to prioritize pitching.”
The Rangers' pitching depth was exposed due to numerous injuries and inconsistent performances this season that saw their starters post a combined 4.75 ERA (28th worst in MLB), while allowing the opposition to hit .281 (29th).
Here are the numbers for the pitchers who logged 20 or more starts for Texas in 2014:
Pitcher | GS | W-L | ERA | WHIP | IP |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Colby Lewis | 29 | 10-14 | 5.18 | 1.52 | 170.1 |
Nick Martinez | 24 | 5-12 | 4.55 | 1.46 | 140.1 |
Yu Darvish | 22 | 10-7 | 3.06 | 1.26 | 144.1 |
Nick Tepesch | 22 | 5-11 | 4.36 | 1.37 | 126 |
