Hunter Pence silenced the crowd at Kauffman Stadium quickly Tuesday evening.
The outfielder blasted a two-run home run off right-hander James Shields in the first inning to give the San Francisco Giants an early 3-0 lead in Game 1 of the World Series.
Pence, who hadn't recorded a postseason home run since Game 4 of the 2012 National League Championship Series, entered Monday's series opener with no hits in 11 career at-bats against Shields.
