After hitting their way to the most runs in baseball this season, the Los Angeles Angels don't appear eager to share their secrets at the plate.

The Angels reportedly denied Oakland an opportunity to interview Los Angeles hitting coach Dave Hansen for the Athletics' vacant position, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle.

"A's will have to look elsewhere to fill their need," a source told Slusser.

Slusser added Hansen has no desire to leave the division-winning Angels after instructing the offense to a league-high 773 runs.

Oakland is reportedly interested in Texas Rangers hitting coach Dave Magadan, who remains under contract through 2015 and is a front-runner to land the vacant job for the New York Yankees.
