Astros decline option on reliever Matt Albers

Houston Astros right-hander Matt Albers will not be back with the club in 2015 after the team announced it declined his $3-million option for next season.

Albers, 31, missed most of the year with shoulder tendinitis, appearing in just eight games for the Astros.

The 31-year-old has played nine big-league seasons, with stops in Houston, Baltimore, Boston and Arizona.
