Athletics' Vogt to undergo surgery on right foot on Oct. 14

Oakland Athletics catcher/first baseman Stephen Vogt will undergo surgery on his right foot on October 14, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Vogt was prepared to undergo surgery to repair a plantar plate tear in his foot, and after seeking a second opinion, will correct the issue early in the offseason. He still expects to be ready by the start of spring training next season.
