Report: Braves offer full-time GM job to John Hart

Atlanta Braves president John Schuerholz reportedly offered the club's full-time general manager position to John Hart, who was given control of the team on an interim basis after Frank Wren was fired Monday, sources told Yahoo's Jeff Passan.

Hart, who currently works as an analyst for the MLB Network, previously served as general manager of the Cleveland Indians and Texas Rangers before joining the Braves as a senior advisor in 2013. According to Passan, Hart will not respond to Schuerholz's offer until he gives it "serious thought."

Wren, meanwhile, was fired Monday after the Braves were officially eliminated from postseason contention.

"It was time for the organization's well-being," Schuerholz told MLB.com. "It was time, having been eliminated from any postseason possibility, rather than continue to wait, that it would give us an opportunity to form our committee and start this transition a week sooner ... and we thought it was the right day."
