Marcus Stroman: Suspension Reduced To Five Games

Stroman has reached an agreement with Major League Baseball to have his suspension reduced from six to five games, Sportsnet.ca reports.

Analysis:

Stroman was issued a six-game suspension Wednesday for allegedly throwing at the head of Orioles catcher Caleb Joseph, but was able to have it reduced one game following his appeal. He'll begin serving the suspension immediately, which would make him eligible for a return Friday against the Orioles. Stroman had originally been scheduled to start Thursday, but it seems likely that a mix of bullpen options will cover for him in that outing.
