Cardinals' Adams, Carpenter not in lineup Saturday vs. Reds due to illness

The St. Louis Cardinals can clinch a playoff berth with a win Saturday, combined with a Milwaukee Brewers loss, but they'll have to attempt it without the services of two positional starters.
Yadier Molina will catch a breather from behind the plate and move to first base to replace Adams, while Daniel Descalso will assume third-base duties for Carpenter.
The Cardinals carry a 2 1/2-game lead in the National League Central over the Pittsburgh Pirates heading into play Saturday, and their magic number to clinch the division is currently at seven.
