National League Game Summary - Washington at Miami

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Adam LaRoche smacked a two-run homer and the Washington Nationals edged the Miami Marlins, 3-2, in the second test of a four-game set.

Doug Fister (15-6) allowed two runs on five hits and two walks over 6 2/3 innings for Washington, which has won 10 of its last 13 games. Drew Storen fired a 1-2-3 ninth for his eighth save of the season.

"Doug was really good tonight," Nationals manager Matt Williams said.

The Nationals clinched the NL East on Tuesday and are 1 1/2 games ahead of Los Angeles for home-field advantage in the National League.

Justin Bour cracked his first major league homer among his two RBI for the Marlins, who have dropped seven of their last 10 contests. Tom Koehler (9-10) surrendered three runs on six hits and four walks over five frames in defeat.

The Nationals opened the scoring with a two-run first. Jayson Werth worked a two-out walk and LaRoche launched his towering blast into the upper deck in right.

Miami got a run back in the second. Marcell Ozuna led off with a triple and Bour brought him home with an RBI groundout.

Both teams scored a run in the fourth.

Wilson Ramos and Asdrubal Cabrera hit one-out singles in the top of the fourth and Denard Span's single two batters later plated Ramos.

Bour's moonshot into the upper deck in right-center cut the deficit to 3-2 in the home half.
