A trip to the disabled list didn't do much to cure Edwin Jackson's woes.
The Chicago Cubs right-hander, who was activated from the DL prior to Friday's start against the Los Angeles Dodgers, allowed five runs on four hits and a walk before being pulled after just two-thirds of an inning.
Batter | Result | Pitch Count |
---|---|---|
Dee Gordon | F9 | 5 |
Yasiel Puig | BB, R | 6 |
Adrian Gonzalez | 1B, R | 6 |
Matt Kemp | HR, R | 6 |
Hanley Ramirez | 2B, R | 3 |
Carl Crawford | 4-3 | 5 |
Juan Uribe | 1B, R | 4 |
Eric Jokisch came on in relief and surrendered a two-run home run to A.J. Ellis, tacking on yet another run to Jackson's final line.
Jackson has been a nightmare signing for the Cubs since inking a four-year, $52-million deal prior to last season. In 57 starts, the 31-year-old owns a 14-32 record, 5.47 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.
