American League Game Summary - Cleveland at Houston

Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Aviles drove in the winning run in the 13th inning as the Cleveland Indians grabbed a 2-1 win over the Houston Astros to wrap up a four-game series.

With the bases loaded and one out, Aviles smacked a liner to right that Jake Marisnick caught on the run, but his throw home was way offline and Jose Ramirez scored for a 2-1 lead.

Cody Allen pitched a scoreless bottom of the 13th for his 22nd save of the season.

Carlos Santana drove in the tying run in the ninth as Ramirez scored both runs for the Indians, who have won their past three games. Kyle Crockett (4-0) pitched a scoreless 12th inning for the win.

Marisnick drove in the only run of the game for the Astros, who have lost five of seven. Samuel Deduno (2-6) absorbed the loss.

"It seems like every ball we hit was right at somebody, and you go through streaks like that," said Astros interim manager Tom Lawless. "Our swings have gotten a lot better and we're competing very well, but we need some of these balls to drop in, especially for confidence."

Danny Salazar went 7 1/3 innings for Cleveland and allowed one run on five hits with a walk and nine strikeouts, while Houston starter Scott Feldman pitched eight-plus innings and was charged with four hits and a run along with a walk while striking out two.

The first run in this game came in the fourth inning as Dexter Fowler led off with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch with two outs. Marisnick singled to center to score Fowler for a 1-0 lead.

Cleveland, though, tied the game in the ninth as Michael Bourn led off with a long fly ball that one-hopped the wall in left-center. Bourn ran all the way home and it was initially ruled an inside-the-park home run. Replay, though, showed the ball went behind the fence and rolled out and Bourn was given a ground-rule double.

Tony Sipp came on and a bunt single from Ramirez put runners at the corners before Michael Brantley hit into a fielder's choice that saw Bourn nailed at home.

Chad Qualls then took the mound and gave up a run-scoring single to Santana that tied the game. Qualls retire the next two batters to end the inning.
