Cubs giving Rizzo occasional rest days for remainder of season

A day after belting a ninth inning walk-off home run, the Chicago Cubs will hold first baseman Anthony Rizzo out of the lineup Tuesday.
Rizzo made his return Monday night after missing the previous 18 games with a lower back strain, but the Cubs plan to monitor his playing time for the remainder of the season and give him occasional rest days.
The 25-year-old is enjoying a breakout year in Chicago, hitting .280/.376/.520 with 31 home runs and 72 RBIs in 130 games.
Chris Valaika will get the start at first base in place of Rizzo against the visiting Cincinnati Reds.
