Rangers' Choice hurts knee Sunday running bases

Jerome Miron / USA TODAY Sports

ARLINGTON, Texas - Outfielder Michael Choice has left Texas' game against Atlanta with an apparent left knee injury.

Choice was injured while running the bases on his two-run double in the fifth inning. There was no immediate word from the Rangers on the exact injury.

Choice had rounded first base and taken a couple of steps when he suddenly slowed and basically hopped into second base. He immediately clutched his left knee after getting to the bag.

Interim manager Tim Bogar and a trainer immediately went out. After conferring briefly with Choice, they carried him off the field so as not to put pressure on his left leg.

Choice also had an RBI triple in Sunday's game.
