Beset by a shoulder injury for the last two months, Andrew Cashner will take the mound for the San Diego Padres on Saturday for the time since June 18, according to Dennis Lin of the San Diego Union-Tribune.
Cashner, who's endured two lengthy stints on the disabled list this season, crafted a 5.59 ERA across three rehab outings between High-A Lake Elsinore and Triple-A El Paso.
Cashner, a first-round pick in 2008, owns a 2.36 ERA across 12 starts for the Padres this season while allowing just two home runs across 76 1/3 innings.
