7 ways the Texas Rangers will make you feel better about your team

The Texas Rangers are at the bottom of the American League West. It's an unfamiliar place in terms of the club's recent history, but they're pretty used to it in 2014.

And just when you thought things couldn't get any worse for your team, the Rangers go and put up another unimaginable number to prove even losing is bigger in Texas.

The Rangers have been in fifth place in the division since July 9, and have the lowest winning percentage (.384) in the league at 48-77 entering play Wednesday.

Here are seven more dismal numbers from the team that won 90-plus games in four straight seasons before this year:

  1. Texas leads MLB in players (57) and pitchers (36) used in 2014.
  2. They are tied with Arizona for the league's most rookies used (18).
  3. The 36 pitchers used are the second most in major league history (behind only the 2002 San Diego Padres, with 37).
  4. Texas leads MLB in overall disabled list uses (24) and current players on the list (14).
  5. The team is a season-high 29 games under .500 for the second time this year, a number not seen since Oct. 6, 1985.
  6. Texas has 6 walk-off losses, with a different pitcher on the mound for every one.
  7. The 77 losses are the most since 2008, when the club finished 79-83. It was also the last time Texas finished under .500.

There's no official count on sad Ron Washington faces. We only know there are too many.
