Little League World Series Day 2: Mo'ne Davis throws 2-hit shutout; leads Pennsylvania over Tennessee
Pennsylvania 4 - Tennessee 0
It's Mo'ne over everything at the Little League World Series.
Mo'ne Davis pitched a complete-game, two-hit shutout over Tennessee, helping guide her hometown Taney Dragons to a 4-0 victory in their opening-round game in Williamsport.
She struck out eight batters and required just 70 pitches to complete six innings of work, an efficient performance that will allow her to start for the Mid-Atlantic champions again Sunday.

Shortstop Jared Sprague-Lott kickstarted Pennsylvania's offense with a three-run home run in the first inning off Tennessee's Blake Money, and the team added some insurance in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.
Texas 6 - Rhode Island 4
Texas wavered, but never relinquished the lead it was afforded early Friday night.
Rhode Island starter Nick Croteau failed to command the strike zone and spotted Texas a 3-0 lead in two innings of work. His relief would hold Texas to just the single hit until the sixth, but a the three-run outburst ensured Rhode Island's comeback would fall short.
Down five runs, the New England champs brought the go-ahead run to the plate, but failed to sully Matthew Adams' five innings of strong work off the mound for Texas.
Adams allowed just a single run on five hits with his lone blemish being Mason Matos' solo home run in the third inning.
Japan 1 - Venezuela 0
Takuma Takahashi may not get the same attention as his female counterpart from Pennsylvania, but the Japanese hurler one-upped Mo'ne Davis on the international side Friday at the Little League World Series.
He struck out 14 batters and allowed just a single hit in a complete-game shutout of Venezuela, improving Japan to 1-0.
Japan tallied eight hits, but were only able to muster a single run against Venezuelan starter Jorge "El Torito" Cabrera. Suguru Kanamori provided the difference in the third inning with an RBI single.
The Tokyo side will play Mexico on Sunday.
Mexico 4 - Canada 3
In the first Little League World Series action Friday, Juan Garza scored the first run and pitched four innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts to lead Mexico to a 4-3 win over Canada.
Mexico opened the scoring in the bottom of the first. Garza, the leadoff batter, reached on an error by Canada's third baseman Rod Betonio and came around to score on a groundout from Abraham Zambrano.
Betonio, nicknamed 'Roadkill' according to the ESPN broadcast, responded with a two-out home run off Mexico's starter Garza, who hadn't allowed a hit in two frames.
Luis Rodriguez drove in two runs on three hits for Mexico and homered in the third to lock up the victory for his team.
With two outs and the bases loaded in the fifth, Betonio scored on a wild pitch to bring Canada within one run. Evan March followed with a long fly ball to center to end the inning, marking the end of Canada's rally.
