VIDEO: Jeter ties Honus Wagner for 6th on all-time hits list
New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is making his final season count - in the record books.
The Yankees captain tied Honus Wagner for sixth on MLB's all-time hits leaderboard with a first-inning infield single off Cleveland Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer on Friday.
Jeter collected his 3,430th hit on a grounder up the middle fielded by Indians shortstop Jose Ramirez, who made an on-the-run, yet accurate, throw that first baseman Carlos Santana failed to catch.

One might say Jeter benefited from the friendly score-keeping confines of Yankee Stadium.
Derek Jeter just tied Honus Wagner with the cheapest hit in baseball history.

I love baseball history. Tying Honus Wagner is amazing. But Jeter should still be 1 hit away from that. Santana should've been given an E.

Santana drops the ball at 1st and scorer gives Jeter a hit!!!! Seriously?

Jeter's been busy cementing his legacy among the all-time greats in his final season, previously topping Yankees legend Lou Gehrig for the most doubles in franchise history.
