The Cleveland Indians traded Justin Masterson to the St. Louis Cardinals for outfield prospect James Ramsey on Wednesday, and the Indians decided to pay tribute to their traded ace Wednesday night against the Seattle Mariners:

Masterson is gone, but not forgotten.

MLB.com's Jordan Bastian has more on Masterson's departure, felt by the media in addition to his former teammates:

Selfishly, I didn’t want Masterson to get traded. I wanted the Indians to sign him to a long-term contract and give him whatever kind of money that required. That’s selfishly, as a reporter, because Masterson was as good as it gets in that regard. ...

I wish nothing but the best for Masterson, but the Indians made the right decision by trading him to the Cardinals for Double-A outfielder James Ramsey. This was a business decision and it was the right one and, really, it wasn’t a move that screamed “seller” if you take the time to examine it.
