Rangers' Soto arrested on marijuana possession charge
Texas Rangers catcher Geovany Soto was arrested Wednesday night in Grapevine, just outside of Dallas, on a marijuana possession charge.
The 31-year-old was pulled over for speeding, according to Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling, via the Dallas Morning News.
Soto is charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana under two ounces, and free on a $500 bail.
The catcher is rehabbing with the Frisco RoughRiders, and is expected to rejoin the Rangers immediately following the All-Star break.

Soto tested positive for marijuana during the 2009 World Baseball Classic, when he was a member of the Chicago Cubs. At the time, the catcher assured the Cubs it was an isolated incident that would not be repeated.
"I'd appreciate if this is the last time we talk about it. It's embarrassing," he said to reporters at the time of the 2009 incident, via ESPNChicago.
I believe the correct punch line on the Soto pot bust is: The Rockies immediately called and expressed interest
